Welcome to my search for snow.
I am steve, the snow-reporter from www.chamonix.net, and to warm up for the 2012-13 season I will spend 11 days in early November touring around Norway with skis. While looking for the deepest snow, if any, I will follow snowstorms and explore the ski culture in Northern Europe, while waiting for the early winter to start in Chamonix.
I will be using environmentally friendly skis made by Idris skis in Chamonix, www.idriskis.com, skiing on Chamois all-mountain skis.

The Chamonix webcam at the Grands Montets is showing lots of snow, and it looks like there is some more weather coming in there tonight.

Meanwhile, in Norway:

Great!

It looks like I was in the right place for the storm. There was already a skiable snowpack, and last night added 20-30 centimetres of snow. The sun came out in between some light clouds, and it looks like the next wave of weather is on its way here from the west.

I'll let the images do the talking today:

Nice reflection. Village of England, apparently, by the sea!
Norwegians aren't afraid to build tunnels, almost everywhere!
...there are some scenic roads
Approaching the ski hill...
The snow was pretty heavy coastal snow, but there was a lot of it! It was a real work out skinning up, but skiing down was fantastic with the floaty Idris skis. They just cut through the heavy snow so easily, and the pitch was steep enough to get some great turns.

This was the 2nd ski hill at Sogndal, and it has nicer terrain, which is a bit steeper. There are some nice  lines to the side of the area too.

The powder
The aftermath
Ready for round two...!
It was really peaceful up there, almost silent, with no wind.

The top - ish of the mountain.

Chamonix, again, this time in Sogndal!!! Its chasing me too...
It looks like disney really likes the Massif du Mont Blanc - this is the Dent du Geant and the Grands Jorasses on their new film poster.

They also used the Mont Blanc for the snow white film 2 years ago.
