Introduction

 I have the chance to go and explore Norway with skis and see if winter is already there in November. It isn't the conventional time of year to ski in Norway, but while the snow starts to build up in the Chamonix mountains, it seems like a good plan to head north into a cold land for 11 days, warming up my ski legs for Chamonix's early season.

   I will be setting out from Chamonix on November the 2nd, and flying to Oslo. From there I plan to head straight West to the coastal mountains, depending on conditions, and see if I can find some skiable snow,  either lift accessed or with touring gear. I will keep an eye on the weather and go to where it is snowing, hoping for some big snowstorms, exploring Norway's culture and topography with a skiers eye, and maybe heading further East and North if conditions dictate.

   I would like to introduce my partner, Idris skis. My friends Tom and Kiyoko have been exploring the art of making skis with recycled materials for several years, and now produce 4 models of re-used wooden skis, ranging from a versatile all-mountain ski, to a big fat powder ski, as well as a carving ski and a freeride big-mountain version. I will be skiing on the Chamois model, the all mountain ski that can go anywhere.
